  • Description: This paper introduces the Promise Scholarship program. It was developed to aid citizens, with limited financial resources, in taking an active role towards assisting talented, bright aud needy students in receiving college degrees by providing financial support, tutoring and mentoring. The Promise Scholarship program borrows its fundamental ideology from two other scholarship foundations. The Promise Scholarship program is based on the successes of these other programs and on basic theories of motivation towards achievement and attitude formation.
