Description:
Yet research increasingly finds that morbidity and mortality are affected by economic stability and income, with the relationships most pronounced for low-income individuals and families.1,2 Currently, 42% of USworkers are employed in jobs that pay less than $15 per hour, and women and people of color are overrepresented in such jobs.3 Low-wage workers are more likely to face hazardous conditions at work and are more likely to be exposed to contaminants in their homes and communities.
